Is now a good time to be selling a pharmacy?

We have been in a Seller’s Market since early in 2016.  It held strong through all of 2017 and 2018 is looking like more of the same – we hope!  Yes, now is a great time to sell.

In a seller’s market sale prices are stronger because the number of businesses for sale is lower that the number of buyers out there looking to purchase.  It’s a supply and demand thing-plain and simple.  As long as the supply is low buyers will be competing with each other to buy the businesses on the market.

  • Sale prices for pharmacy businesses are at a 10 year high!
  • Capital is available to finance deals. Less need for seller financing.
  • The Tax Act of 2017 created some unexpected tax minimization opportunities for business sellers.
